that's my prediction...

just got promoted from Ligue 2 but they will go on a never-before-seen spending spree this summer. They just bought Moutinho and Rodriguez from Porto for 70M today and will likely snag up tevez, cavani, falcao, valdes, and Hulk in the next few weeks

The ability to offer salary without income tax is a ridiculous advantage...living in Monaco isn't the worst thing either

they haven't won a Ligue 1 title since 2000 but now backed by a billionaire will be the next big thing

If Cavani doesn't come to City I'm gonna be pissed....him and Aguero have to be the starting strikers this year....looks as if Tevez n Dzeko are leaving....the Dzeko for Cavani deal seems to have lost steam....hopefully both sides agree on terms....I thought falcao to the blues was in the making?

probably will come down to money or champions league. If falcao can go one more year without CL football then he's signing with Monaco and keeping the 50% of wages he'd be giving to UK Govt if he signs with the Blues. Same with Cavani...

[h=2]Monaco expect to sign Falcao 'plus four or five more'[/h] Radamel Falcao is close to joining Monaco, according to the club's assistant coach

May 21, 2013

The club's assistant coach Jean Petit has confirmed negotiations for the Colombian are progressing and that he hopes to see a number of other top players follow

Monaco assistant coach Jean Petit claims he expects the club to complete the signing of Radamel Falcao "as soon as possible."

The Atletico Madrid star has long been linked with a shock move to the newly-promoted Ligue 1 outfit, despite reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Petit has now confirmed he expects the Colombian to seal a move to the principality club shortly, along with a number of other top-class players.

"Yes, we are expecting Falcao and four or five other players of his quality," he told Radio RCN.

"We have spoken and we continue to speak with Falcao and his representatives, negotiations are ongoing. We hope to seal a deal as soon as possible.

"Monaco need a player like Falcao because he can help us a lot and because he can attract other top players, and that's the best way of confirming our project is big and interesting. Signing Falcao is a big coup, on sporting and media levels, for French football.

"As a footballer Falcao has everything. He has technique, good control of the ball and scores a lot of goals. We saw it here in Monaco in the [European] SuperCup final and we were impressed and surprised by his performance and clinical finishing. President [Dmitry] Rybolovlev likes Falcao a lot."

hearding benzema to united then chicharito to juve to make room for him.

looks like blues will miss out on falcao (60M is reportedly the number monaco are putting out for falcao) but will make a 30M pound bid on Rooney

gonna be a wild offseason

Lol, another episode of stolen russian money pumped into club. I've read about owner on forbes site not so long ago. French federation is already taking measures to not allow all these loops to help lure players and build top club for "cheap". They'll need to move head office to French residence (already done as a law to participate in league), and they try to make Monaco pay taxes too, something like 200mil euro. Rybolovlev seems to like expensive toys, so won't expect him to play with that one for long if this pressure holds on. Also heard that Falcao only coming to Monaco to sign with Real asap. Without tax loophole, they will only get a bunch of old unwanted scrubs.

yeah will be a fun power struggle. ligue 1 never gave a shit when the prince would use minimal funds to support AS Monaco but not now that a billionaire has the funds they see the writing on the wall. This is largely a push by Marseille, Lyon, and Bordeaux who see they will never play CL again with Monaco and PSG's billionaire's footing the bill.

Quite a unique situation as nothing can be done about taxing the player wages so they'll try to screw Monaco with taxes even before they kick a ball in top flight. Either way the fact that Monaco can offer a great opportunity where a player keeps his wages (avg tax in UK is 50% at that level) and play big time footie will have some interest well above MLS-like old unwanted scrubs

i imagine like every other team aka chelski, citeh, anzhi, etc...you don't win championships the first year you pump a boatload of money but Monaco +275 to win Ligue one next season. I guess it would be tempting but PSG still going to be very strong. But a few more signings and the odds certainly will drop.
